How to Get the Most Out of Acupuncture and Reiki Treatments

  • Be curious about what your body is trying to tell you.
  • Be open to feeling better than you imagined.
  • Eat a light or moderate sized meal before an acupuncture treatment. It is not advised to have acupuncture on an empty stomach.
  • Don’t drink alcohol or take recreational drugs for at least 24 hours before and after your session.
  • Plan to work out or have any physical manipulation-based work such as massage, chiropractic adjustments or physical therapy before rather than after your appointment.
  • Drink plenty of water after treatments to help you flush any toxins that have been released.
  • Use the treatments as a motivator to make other positive changes in your life.
  • Observe carefully what you notice physically and emotionally after your treatment and make mental or written notes to be able to share your observations with me.

Payment and Insurance

For payment, we accept cash, checks and all major credit cards.

Many insurance companies now do provide acupuncture coverage. I recommend you call your insurance company and ask what their “acupuncture benefit” is. Payment is due at the time of service, and I will provide you with a medical receipt so that you can be reimbursed directly by your insurance carrier if you are covered.

In all cases in my clinic, clients have been able to use medical spending accounts, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts and other tax-free accounts to pay for treatment. If you have questions about this, contact your account supervisor or human resources department.
